Dancing Digital Archives in Atlanta

Julie B. Johnson (Moving Our Stories) and Victoria Lemos (Archive Atlanta Podcast) have collaborated on site-responsive choreographic initiatives that utilize archival and embodied memory research to lift up Atlanta's unique histories. 

Join us as we explore three different sites of memory:
  • digital archive collections
  • historical neighborhoods
  • our moving bodies

​We will share research tools and strategies to incorporate into your creative practice.

Prompts from Moving Our Stories’ Dancing in Darktown project will take us through online collections to a walk along the historic Auburn Ave corridor, and then to our embodied memories through collective movement.

Light refreshments will be served.

Proposal Writing Basics 

This virtual grant writing workshop is geared specifically for dancers who are new to writing and submitting grant and/or fellowship proposals, or those seeking a refresher course. We will focus on:
  • Searching for opportunities aligned with your mission, vision, and goals
  • Centering your values in your approach to proposal writing
  • Exploring basic components of  applications
  • Crafting a compelling narrative!
  • Follow up with a 1-on-1 consultation (optional)

Do you have a proposal that you're working on? This 1-on-1 consultation is geared to support your vision and help you submit a compelling proposal. Areas of focus:
  • Getting started and connecting meaningfully to an organization's call for proposals.
  • line-editing and proofreading
  • articulating your vision and writing a clear, effective narrative
  • Building and organizing your supporting materials
Rate: $150 per 1-hour consultation + email follow-up
